Introduction
Teflon coating is the chemical coating process in which Teflon is sprayed on the surface of metal parts. Teflon coating offers excellent corrosion resistance, water resistance, and non-stickiness with a non-reactive surface.
The coating layer of Teflon can be applied on several materials, including Steel, brass, aluminum, magnesium, glass, and plastics as well. The thickness of Teflon coating ranged from 0.02 to 0.05mm, depending upon the types of material and required specification of parts.

Tie low-friction or release performance to a defined substrate and test
PTFE coating specifications need the base material, surface preparation, coverage region, thickness or application class, temperature/chemical exposure and the functional test that shows the coated interface works as intended.
Engineering data to lock before release
| Substrate/prep | Base material and required surface preparation |
|---|---|
| Functional target | Friction, release, chemical or temperature behavior |
| Coverage | Coated, masked and mating surface boundaries |
| Verification | Thickness, adhesion or application-specific functional test |
A low-friction coating should be evaluated with the mating material and load condition, not only by its nominal coating description.
