Introduction to Garolite G-10

The thermoset engineering material known as Garolite G-10 is created by mixing fiberglass with phenolic epoxy. It is a robust material with a high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent impact resistance, and low moisture absorption capacity. It also has outstanding Stiffness.

Garolite is suitable for electrical insulation due to its low thermal expansion and water absorption capacity. As a result, it is widely employed in producing electrical circuit boards. Also, it can be used to create complex shapes because of its high machinability properties.

G-10 LAMINATE DATA

Specify the laminate, not merely the generic composite name

G-10 design needs the laminate grade, thickness, reinforcement orientation, insulation function and hole/edge geometry. These details guide machining and help prevent an assumption that all glass-epoxy laminates share the same electrical or mechanical performance.

Engineering data to lock before release

ConstructionLaminate grade, thickness and reinforcement orientation
Electrical functionInsulation distance, voltage context and test requirement
Machining featuresHoles, slots, edges and fiber-sensitive regions
AcceptanceThickness, feature location and surface/edge condition

Use the approved laminate data sheet for performance values; the material name alone does not establish them.
