Introduction
Nickel Plating is the process of developing a thin layer of Nickel on the metal parts. It can be done by two methods, with the help of electrolysis and without. However, both ways have the same goal, making the parts super resistive to corrosion.
The nickel layer enhances the mechanical strength, hardness, wear resistance, lubricity, and ductility. After finishing with it, the surface also becomes brighter. Nickel plating is applicable in different materials, including Steel, aluminum, copper, and brass.

Die Cast Industry: Status in 2026 and Trends by Segments
Die-casting is a process of creating metal components by forcing molten material into a reusable mold (called a die), where it fills the cavity and takes the shape upon solidification.

Control coating build-up and the property it is intended to deliver
Nickel-plated parts should specify the substrate, coating type, thickness or class, supplementary treatment, functional faces and measurement method. This prevents a cosmetic plating description from being used where wear, corrosion or dimensional performance is actually required.
Engineering data to lock before release
| System definition | Substrate, nickel type and any topcoat/passivation |
|---|---|
| Functional target | Wear, corrosion, appearance or conductivity |
| Fit impact | Threads, bores, contacts and masked features |
| Measurement | Thickness method, location and acceptance record |
Use a measurement method compatible with the coating/substrate system; thickness data without method or location is incomplete.
